Swamp Stalker

The 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle Swamp Stalker reimagines classic American muscle as a relentless bog spec dirt racer, engineered for supreme agility in soft, muddy terrain. Extensive bolt-on riveted widebody panels expand the stance aggressively, with 180mm front flares featuring integrated mud gutter channels to eject debris while preserving wheel clearance. The rear arches extend 200mm with layered flares and vertical lips that function as mud deflectors, maintaining traction and visibility in swamp conditions. High-mounted tubular steel bumpers with integrated LED spotlights enhance durability and visibility without compromising approach angles. Underneath, massive 40-inch mud-terrain flotation tires on 17x14 beadlock Apex wheels provide unparalleled ground contact and low-pressure flotation, supported by long-travel progressive shocks that maintain composure over uneven swamp tracks. The front-engine V8 remains the heart of this beast, with relocated radiators housed in oversized sidepods to improve cooling efficiency amid slow-speed, high-load conditions. Vertical hood ducts ahead of the windshield cowl feed fresh air directly to the cooling system, completing a build that fuses industrial rawness with rugged endurance for off-road trophy dominance.

Technical Dossier // R006

Track

Designed specifically for swamp and bog environments, the Swamp Stalker excels on soft, muddy off-road tracks where flotation and mud ejection are critical. The build’s wide stance, flotation tires, and mud-deflecting aero components work in concert to maintain speed and control through thick terrain, making it a formidable contender in off-road trophy and Baja-style racing.

Body Modifications

Bolt-on riveted sheet metal widebody panels with stepped chamfer arches
Front arches flared 180mm with mud gutter channels
Side panels widened 100mm with riveted overlays and rock guards
Rear arches widened 200mm with layered flares and vertical mud deflectors
High-mounted tubular steel front bumper replacing stock unit

Aero Components

140mm deep rear diffuser with three horizontal slats
Integrated mud deflectors behind rear wheels
Vertical hood cold air ducts ahead of windshield cowl
Tubular steel guard bars on reinforced rear tailgate

Aero

Aerodynamic elements focus on mud management and cooling efficiency. The rear diffuser with horizontal slats reduces lift and channels airflow to minimize mud spray, while vertical lips and mud deflectors behind the rear wheels prevent debris buildup. Hood-mounted vertical cold air ducts optimize airflow to radiators and coolers, maintaining engine temperature in slow-speed, heavy-load conditions.

Wheel and Tire Setup

Apex 17x14 inch beadlock wheels
40-inch diameter mud-terrain flotation tires
Low-pressure operation for softground flotation

Wheels

Equipped with 17x14-inch Apex beadlock wheels, the Swamp Stalker’s wheels are engineered to withstand harsh off-road rigors and secure the enormous 40-inch diameter mud-terrain flotation tires. These low-pressure tires maximize surface area to reduce ground pressure, improving traction and preventing the car from sinking into swampy terrain.

Stance

The stance is elevated with 400mm front and 420mm rear ride height complemented by progressive long-travel shocks, providing ample suspension travel to absorb rough swamp trail impacts. The aggressive widebody expansion combined with tall ride height creates a commanding presence and functional clearance critical for swamp assault performance.

Powertrain Concept

Front-mounted V8 engine retained
Radiators relocated to oversized sidepods below door sills
Engine oil coolers integrated with cold air ducting
Cooling optimized for low-speed swamp conditions

Engine

The Swamp Stalker preserves the classic front-mounted V8, delivering raw torque essential for bog and swamp terrain. Cooling efficiency is enhanced by relocating radiators into deep sidepods below the doors, fed by vertical hood ducts that channel cold air directly to the front-mounted engine oil coolers and radiator cores, ensuring reliable operation under slow, grueling swamp assaults.

Drivetrain

Paired with massive beadlock wheels and flotation tires, the drivetrain is optimized for maximum traction and power delivery in soft terrain. Progressive long-travel suspension and tall ride height ensure stability and articulation, allowing the drivetrain to maintain grip and momentum across uneven, muddy surfaces while resisting bogging down.

Fabrication Notes

Riveted bolt-on widebody panels with stepped chamfer and mud gutters
Layered overlapping rear flares with thick vertical lips
Tubular steel bumpers and guard bars for impact protection
Steel mesh guards protecting sidepod radiators
