Project Apex Vortex

2009 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi

Project Apex Vortex takes a 2009 Ram 1500 and treats it like an open-rule silhouette car—same unmistakable cab and beltline, but everything underneath is rethought for sustained high-speed load. The 175mm front and 195mm rear box flares aren’t just for theater; they’re shaped as pressure-managed shelves and cutaways that feed the brakes, vent the arches, and stabilize the truck’s blunt frontal wake at speed.

Up front, a 220mm carbon splitter with raised dive planes sets the tone: big platform, clean sealing, and aggressive cooling packaged like a prototype. The bed becomes a tapered deck to shorten the wake, the diffuser is deep and finned to keep the underbody working, and the swan-neck dual-element wing brings the balance back when the slicks start asking for real downforce. It’s a Ram that looks wrong in the best way—because it’s engineered to be fast, not polite.

2009 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi

The 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi is a bold expression of American pickup power, marrying robust capability with unmistakable muscle truck character. Underneath its commanding stance lies a tried-and-true ladder frame chassis and a potent 5.7-liter HEMI V8, delivering torque and horsepower that's performance-ready yet versatile enough for daily work or weekend adventures. It's a platform that embodies raw strength and rugged engineering—a modern classic foundation for builders who value authentic muscle and utility without compromise.

Aero Package

220mm-projection multi-element carbon splitter with raised dive planes for front balance and sealing
Ducted twin vertical cooling intakes with recessed radiator placement for pressure management
Sidepod-style rocker ducts feeding rearward extraction and underbody efficiency
280mm-deep, 2000mm-wide rear diffuser with eight vertical strakes to control expansion
1900mm dual-element rear wing on swan-neck pylons with adjustable AoA and pitch

Chassis

Seen at dusk on a fast circuit, the truck reads like a prototype that forgot it started life as a pickup. The low ride height, wide slicks, and towering swan-neck wing make sense in the places that matter—long straights, heavy braking zones, and high-speed transitions where stability is earned, not assumed.

Wheels & Tires

BBS Motorsport forged center-locks: 18x13 ET10 front, 18x14 ET5 rear
Front: 345/35ZR18 Toyo Proxes R888R (track-focused compound/fitment for wide contact patch)
Rear: 365/30ZR18 Hoosier racing slicks for maximum rear grip and aero load support
Track increase: +350mm front, +370mm rear to match aero and tire envelope

Powertrain

5.7L Hemi rebuilt with dry-sump oiling for sustained lateral load and high-rpm stability
Twin Garrett GT42 turbo system with large air-to-air intercooling and heat-managed charge routing
Side-exit exhaust behind front wheels to reduce backpressure and protect diffuser flow
Motorsport ECU calibration focused on endurance-safe EGT control and repeatable power delivery

Fabrication Notes

Composite widebody bonded and fastened with serviceable panel interfaces for track repair
Front cooling package fully ducted: inlet sealing, radiator shrouds, and controlled exit paths
Center-lock hub conversion with reinforced uprights and race-bearing selection for load capacity
Underfloor built as a working aero surface with splitter-to-floor continuity and diffuser throat control

Wave 50

Group 7 Grocery-Getters

We got tired of watching the same halo cars hog all the pit lane attention, so we did the only reasonable thing: we turned the background traffic into the main event. This release is our love letter to the cars you ignore in the parking lot, now wearing full open-rule prototype hardware like they were born with it.
