R034
The 1980 Ford Fairmont Patagonia Wind-Blast Gravel Build transforms a classic American sedan into a purpose-built gravel hill climb contender. This build raises the chassis by 120mm and widens the front and rear axles to accommodate Ultra4-spec beadlock wheels wrapped in chunky 35x12.50 tires, delivering both ground clearance and rugged traction. The bold widebody features riveted trapezoidal arches and exposed aluminum panels, blending durability with a military-inspired aesthetic that emphasizes function and aggressive industrial styling. Under the hood, enhanced airflow is paramount. The hood extends forward with a central raised scoop and dual vents feeding a front-mounted intercooler and multiple radiator cores, while side intercoolers vent heat efficiently through ducts behind the fenders. Suspension travel is increased by 80mm to maintain composure over rough terrain, and integrated LED rally lights embedded in the widened front fenders add both illumination and a purposeful rally look.
Blueprint // R034
Built for high-altitude gravel hill climb racing, this Fairmont excels in rough terrain with increased suspension travel and ground clearance. The widebody setup provides enhanced stability through tight corners, while the cooling enhancements ensure consistent performance under demanding conditions.
120mm chassis lift for clearance and suspension travel
Front and rear axle widen +220mm/+240mm for Ultra4 beadlock fitment
Riveted trapezoidal wide fender arches with aluminum overlay panels
Extended rear hatch canopy with integrated roll cage halo
Matte olive base with geometric tan camouflage and matte black lower cladding
Front bumper with 400mm wide air intakes feeding multiple radiator cores
Raised hood scoop (280x115mm) with vertical chamfered edges directing airflow
Dual forward-facing hood vents for engine bay heat extraction
Rear diffuser integrated skid plate with vertical brake cooling vents
Aerodynamics focus on cooling and debris protection rather than downforce, featuring large front air intakes and a raised hood scoop to channel airflow efficiently into intercoolers and radiators. The rear diffuser doubles as a skid plate with vertical vents to cool brakes, while side exit ducts behind the fenders evacuate hot air, maintaining optimal thermal management in harsh racing environments.
Method Race 17x10 front and 17x12 rear beadlock wheels
35x12.50 off-road gravel tires for traction and durability
Suspension travel increased by 80mm for rough terrain compliance
Equipped with Method Race 17-inch beadlock wheels—10 inches wide up front and 12 inches wide at the rear—these wheels provide rugged durability and bead retention essential for off-road gravel racing. The large 35x12.50 tires deliver aggressive tread and sidewall strength to tackle loose surfaces and sharp elevation changes.
The stance is elevated and aggressive, with a 120mm lift and widened axles giving the Fairmont a commanding presence over gravel terrain. The pronounced trapezoidal arches and extended fender flares create a purposeful silhouette that balances functional off-road capability with a distinctive rally-inspired aesthetic.
Front-engine all-wheel-drive layout retained
Upgraded cooling system with front intercooler and side-mounted intercoolers
High-capacity radiator cores with angled exit ducts for efficient heat dissipation
The engine bay is optimized for thermal management with a front-mounted intercooler fed by a raised central hood scoop and flanking vents. Multiple radiator cores paired with side-mounted intercoolers and strategically placed exit ducts maintain stable operating temperatures during prolonged high-altitude racing.
Retaining the Fairmont’s front-engine all-wheel-drive setup, the drivetrain is adapted for gravel competition with reinforced components and improved cooling. The widened track and lifted suspension complement the beadlock wheels and off-road tires to maximize traction and stability on uneven surfaces.
Composite underlying structure reinforced with riveted aluminum panels
Widened trapezoidal fender arches extended 150mm front, 210mm rear
Integrated LED rally lights embedded within front wide fender walls
Extended hood length by 90mm to accommodate raised scoop and air management
Reinforced rear quarter panels with exposed fasteners for rugged durability
