Shadow Circuit Armada takes the Evo IX—already a homologation weapon—and drags it into the 1980s endurance paddock. The familiar greenhouse and door cuts stay as the anchor, but everything around them becomes Group C logic: a wedge nose, sealed front arches, and a longtail deck that looks like it was shaped in a wind tunnel at 3 a.m. It’s the kind of “works prototype” that would have made purists furious and engineers proud.
This isn’t a cartoon widebody. The covered wheels, venturi-style ducting, and long rear overhang are all aimed at the same goal: stability at sustained speed, clean cooling paths, and downforce you can actually lean on. Matte carbon and exposed metallic aero hardware keep it honest—more test session than show stand.

2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX
Built 4G63 2.0L turbo retained for identity
tuned for sustained load rather than peak dyno numbers
Front-mid layout concept to improve weight distribution and reduce understeer under aero load
High-efficiency charge cooling via roof-fed top-mount intercooler and dedicated ducting
Side-exit exhaust outlets to preserve diffuser flow and reduce rear heat soak
Extended wedge front bumper with ~1600mm splitter projecting ~180mm and dual vertical dive planes
Hood wedge with recessed NACA ducts feeding auxiliary radiators and pressure-managed extraction
Roof fairing extension and roof intake feeding a top-mounted intercooler for stable charge temps at speed
Longtail underbody diffuser extending ~280mm rearward with five strakes and integrated 80mm diffuser lip

BBS Motorsport LM Pro forged monoblocks: 18x11 front
18x12 rear
Aero disc covers with vented side panels for brake heat management
Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2: 275/35ZR18 front
315/30ZR18 rear
Expanded track: +280mm front
+310mm rear; static ride height target ~45mm with adaptive damping
Carbon widebody and wheel covers require quick-release service strategy for tire changes and brake inspection
Internal ducting bonded to arch covers with sealed interfaces to prevent pressure bleed at speed
