The Savanna Raid Program takes the most unassuming mid-2000s wagon shape and turns it into a long-distance desert tool you could actually service in the bivouac. The HHR’s tall greenhouse and short overhangs become advantages once the chassis is seam-stitched, caged, and pushed out on a true track-width monster widebody—square flares, rock deflectors, and clear sightlines that still read “HHR” from a mile away.

Under the sand-beige and geometric camo, the engineering is all about keeping speed when the surface turns ugly: big tire, big travel, big cooling, and predictable aero. A ducted hood feeds sealed radiator boxes, a tubular front clip carries the hits, and the high-mounted dual-element wing gives stability on fast gravel without pretending this is a circuit car.

Built on GM’s Delta platform, the HHR offers a utilitarian yet stylish package, marked by its boxy silhouette, high roofline, and robust stance. While its design echoes vintage utility, the chassis provides a contemporary and adaptable foundation well-suited for creative customization and performance upgrades, balancing everyday usability with a touch of nostalgic character.
