R058
The Overland Ursine Voyager transforms the iconic 2002 Mazda RX-7 Spirit R from a precision sports coupe into a rugged overland expedition machine. Embracing a widebody architecture with reinforced steel tubing and carbon fiber panels, this build significantly widens the track for enhanced stability on unpredictable terrain. Its raised suspension and 18-inch mud-terrain tires prioritize durability and grip over speed, while the bespoke flat steel hood with integrated solar panels and cooling vents supports prolonged self-sufficiency in remote environments. Powering this transformation is a purpose-built turbocharged diesel engine, replacing the original rotary for improved torque and fuel economy essential for extended wilderness travel. The rear cargo module expands storage capacity with armored access and provisions for water and fuel, making the Ursine Voyager a true expedition-ready machine that respects the RX-7’s purist roots while boldly reimagining its potential for adventure.
Blueprint // R058
The build increases front and rear track widths to 1850mm and 1880mm respectively, enhancing lateral stability on uneven terrain. The widened stance is complemented by high-clearance suspension components and off-road tires, providing confident handling and aggressive trail capability without sacrificing the RX-7’s dynamic heritage.
Modular steel tubing reinforced widebody arches with carbon fiber panels
Raised ride height with 60mm lift springs and reinforced double wishbone suspension
Flat steel hood with integrated solar panel array and reinforced heat vents
Extended rear cargo module with armored
side-hinged tailgate and integrated storage
Liquid cooling vents with protective mesh guards integrated into front and rear arches
Wide off-road bumpers with built-in winch mounts and jacking points
Rugged full-width rear roof rack replacing traditional spoiler
Low-profile LED floodlights and antenna arrays mounted on roof rack
Functional aerodynamic elements focus on cooling and protection rather than downforce. Liquid cooling vents with debris guards are integrated into the widebody arches, while traditional aero components are replaced by a full-width rear roof rack outfitted with LED floodlights and communication antennas. The rugged front and rear bumpers provide airflow management and trail utility without compromising robustness.
18x10" Method Race NV forged wheels
35x12.50R18 BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM3 tires
Wide track setup with front track expanded to 1850mm and rear to 1880mm
Heavy-duty beadlock-style wheel hardware for off-road durability
Equipped with 18x10-inch Method Race NV forged wheels, these are wrapped in 35x12.50R18 BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM3 tires designed for deep dirt, mud, and rock penetration. The wheels feature heavy-duty beadlock-style hardware to ensure tire retention and reliability under extreme off-road conditions.
The Overland Ursine Voyager’s stance is defined by a 220mm ride height achieved via bespoke 60mm lift springs and reinforced suspension arms. This elevated setup balances the demands of heavy cargo loads and rugged trail travel while maintaining composed handling and a purposeful, aggressive presence.
Turbocharged diesel engine conversion for high torque and fuel efficiency
Engineered for long-range overland reliability and simplified maintenance
