The Freight Phantom Conversion takes the iconic 1979 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II and reimagines it as a no-nonsense urban box truck, engineered for practicality without sacrificing the unmistakable Rolls silhouette. Maintaining the signature roofline, window placement, and door count, this build transforms the rear into a sharply squared cargo box optimized for maximum capacity and durability. Track widths are widened front and rear to ensure stability under load, while the front fenders are subtly flared to accommodate heavy-duty wheels and cooling ducts integrated into the hood bulge, housing a torque-rich turbo V8 swap built for city hauling demands.
This build’s suspension and drivetrain receive serious upgrades focused on load-bearing and reliability. Progressive-rate coil springs with reinforced wishbones up front and a robust multi-link solid axle in the rear raise the ride height and support the heavier payload. The reinforced transmission and re-geared final drive deliver strong low-end torque, paired with a high-capacity cooling system to withstand the rigors of stop-and-go urban freight transport. The matte platinum silver paint with gloss black accents and reflective safety decals rounds out a design that balances industrial function with the Silver Shadow’s timeless presence.

The 1979 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II epitomizes understated luxury with its timelessly elegant proportions and presence. As Rolls-Royce’s flagship sedan of its era, it blends classic British craftsmanship with pioneering technical features, including independent rear suspension and advanced power steering for the period. Built on a unibody chassis, the Silver Shadow II offers a supple ride that set the tone for chauffeured luxury, its stately silhouette an icon of refined automotive culture and bespoke bespoke motoring.
Aero Package
Flat 60mm extended front splitter for minor front-end stability and debris protection
Flush-mounted rectangular NACA ducts on hood bulge for turbo V8 intake cooling
Chamfered recessed channel transitions between sedan body and cargo box sides for aerodynamic smoothing
Chassis
The track is significantly widened—160mm at the front and 280mm at the rear—to improve stability and handling when fully loaded. This functional wide track setup is complemented by carefully designed wheel arches and flares that accommodate larger commercial-grade wheels and tires without compromising clearance or urban maneuverability.
