Velvet Empire Edition

The Velvet Empire Edition transforms the 2012 Ford Escape into a commanding urban cruiser that merges widebody bravado with refined luxury. Its meticulously crafted 115mm front and 140mm rear flares, finished with polished chrome lips, broaden the SUV's stance while maintaining fluid, convex lines that emphasize presence without aggression. The billet aluminum front splitter with integrated dive planes and vertical air curtains, paired with the extended rear diffuser and low-profile carbon fiber wing, create a cohesive aerodynamic ensemble designed for poised street performance and visual impact. Under the hood, the familiar 2.5L inline-4 is subtly enhanced with a mild supercharger tucked beneath hand-formed aluminum hood bulges, delivering smooth, accessible torque tuned for urban driving dynamics. The build balances show car extravagance with street usability, featuring refined 22-inch staggered wheels wrapped in low-profile tires, a slightly lowered suspension with bespoke coilovers, and a satin candy oyster pearl paint that shifts elegantly in changing light—embodying a sophisticated yet bold statement in modern SUV customization.

Technical Dossier // R014

Track

This build emphasizes composed, confident street performance over outright track aggression. Sophisticated coilovers and increased track widths enhance stability and cornering precision, while the aerodynamic elements balance visual impact with functional airflow management suited for spirited urban driving.

Body Modifications

115mm front fender extensions with convex flare profiles
140mm rear quarter widebox flares with stepped shoulder creases
Extended rear hatch by 120mm with integrated low-profile ducktail lip
Hand-formed aluminum hood featuring dual longitudinal bulges

Aero Components

Billet aluminum front splitter extending 170mm with twin dive planes
Vertical air curtain vents integrated into front bumper corners
Full-width rear diffuser with five vertical aero fins
Dual-element carbon fiber rear wing mounted on polished aluminum struts

Aero

Aerodynamic elements are integrated seamlessly into the widebody design, from the billet aluminum front splitter with upward-angled dive planes to the rear diffuser with vertical fins that promote stable airflow under the car. The low-profile carbon fiber wing atop polished aluminum pillars balances downforce and elegance, reinforcing the build’s fusion of show car presence with subtle aerodynamic function.

Wheel and Tire Setup

Front: 22x9.5" forged APEX Arc-8 wheels with 265/30R22 tires
Rear: 22x11" staggered forged APEX Arc-8 wheels with 315/30R22 tires

Wheels

Staggered 22-inch forged APEX Arc-8 wheels provide a polished chrome contrast to the satin and candy pearl paintwork. The front 9.5-inch width and rear 11-inch width wheels fill the widebody arches with aggressive yet refined presence, wrapped in low-profile tires engineered for grip and smooth rolling comfort.

Stance

Lowered by 20mm front and rear, the stance remains grounded without sacrificing practicality. The widened track of 230mm front and 280mm rear complements the smooth flare extensions, creating a strong shoulder width that commands attention while maintaining poised urban drivability.

Powertrain Concept

OEM 2.5L inline-4 engine with mild supercharger upgrade
Front-wheel drive with tuned torque delivery for urban dynamics

Engine

The original 2.5L inline-4 engine is enhanced with a discreet mild supercharger, increasing torque output smoothly and efficiently without altering the Escape’s refined character. The supercharger nestles beneath the custom aluminum hood bulges, preserving a clean silhouette while delivering accessible power tuned for confident urban driving.

Drivetrain

Retaining front-wheel drive, the drivetrain is optimized for smooth torque delivery and improved traction on city streets. The combination of mild forced induction and suspension tuning ensures composed handling and responsiveness, aligning with the build’s focus on street usability and refined performance.

Fabrication Notes

Smooth convex flare profiles with softened 350mm radius transitions
Billet aluminum composite front bumper replacing OEM plastic
Hand-formed aluminum hood panels with precise cathedral bulges
Layered flare geometry with vertical chrome flare lips
