Bayou Boogie

Bayou Boogie reimagines the 2008 Chevrolet HHR as a tempest of muscle and lowrider culture, merging classic American bravado with a show-stopping widebody stance. The front fenders swell forward by 135mm into bulbous forms flowing seamlessly into 85mm extended rocker panels, while the rear quarters explode into 180mm flares accented by stepped aerodynamic shelves. A brushed aluminum double bubble hood scoop rises prominently, balancing the exaggerated rear bumper extension crowned with towering vertical fins that echo vintage muscle car motifs. This is not just a car—it’s a sculptural statement, polished to a mirror shine and ready to dominate any cruiser show with its bold silhouette and vivid reflections.

Track

Bayou Boogie is conceived primarily for show and cultural events rather than competitive track use. Its extreme widebody and ultra-low stance prioritize visual impact and presence over aerodynamic efficiency or lap times. The widened track and hydraulic suspension ensure stable handling during slow cruises and parade laps, reflecting its roots in lowrider and muscle car tradition.

Body Modifications

Front fenders extended 135mm with bulbous rounded profiles
Rocker panels widened by 85mm for continuous flowing surfaces
Rear quarter panels flared 180mm with stepped horizontal shelves
Rear hatch chopped 50mm with integrated stepped deck lid

Aero Components

Massive rear bumper extension projecting 250mm with bullet-shaped vertical tips
Stepped aerodynamic shelves along rear quarters
Raised brushed aluminum double bubble hood scoop
Vertical stabilizer fins 450mm tall integrated into rear bumper

Aero

Aerodynamics take a stylized approach with stepped horizontal shelves along the rear quarter panels that add visual depth and airflow manipulation. The rear bumper extension doubles as an aerodynamic diffuser and features towering vertical fins reminiscent of classic muscle car tail fins, providing both stabilizing function and cultural homage. The brushed aluminum double bubble hood scoop not only serves as a focal point but subtly channels air, blending form with function in a distinctly show-oriented package.

Wheel and Tire Setup

Fifteen52 20x8 wheels with chrome dish lips
275/40R20 whitewall tires for classic visual appeal
Hydraulic ride height adjustable to 25mm slammed stance
Widened rear track by 140mm for stability

Wheels

The Fifteen52 20x8 wheels feature polished chrome dish lips that catch the light with every angle, perfectly matched to 275/40R20 whitewall tires that evoke classic American styling. This choice balances modern widewheel fitment with nostalgic lowrider cues, reinforcing the build’s blend of muscle car aggression and show car elegance.

Stance

Bayou Boogie sits slammed at a mere 25mm ride height, resting just above the pavement to maximize its visual impact. A hydraulic lift system allows the car to raise for practical driving, while the massively widened track supports a planted stance that commands attention. The exaggerated bodywork and extended flares create a muscular, low-slung presence that dominates any show lot.

Powertrain Concept

Supercharged V8 tuned for strong low-end torque and show presence
Side-exit exhausts integrated into expanded rear bumper volume
Upgraded rear suspension to accommodate widened track
Focus on audibility and visual drama over outright race tuning

Engine

At its heart, Bayou Boogie houses a supercharged V8 delivering a commanding soundtrack and robust low-end grunt. The engine bay is as much a showpiece as the bodywork, with polished components and side-exit exhausts feeding into the widened rear bumper. This setup emphasizes presence and character, pairing brute force with the visual drama expected from a muscle-inspired cruiser.

Drivetrain

The drivetrain is built around a reinforced chassis widened by 140mm at the rear to support the exaggerated flares and maintain stability. Side-exit exhausts necessitate custom rear bumper fabrication, while the suspension is tuned for hydraulic height adjustment allowing a slammed show stance or raised clearance for cruising. This setup balances static show appeal with functional usability.

Fabrication Notes

Custom widebody panels hand-formed to achieve seamless bulbous shapes
Brushed aluminum hood scoop fabricated and integrated flush
Hydraulic lift system installed for adjustable ride height
