Story

The Celebrity was never supposed to be a hero car, which is exactly why this one works. Prancing Retro Prototype keeps the unmistakable A-body roofline and four-door greenhouse, then stretches everything below the beltline into an Italian-style works concept: a 155mm wider front track, a 240mm wider rear, and haunches that read like an ’80s endurance mule rather than a bolt-on kit. The surfacing stays smooth and factory-believable—elliptical front arches with a recessed aero channel, and rear double-bubble flares that look engineered for tire, not theater.

Under the skin, the commuter layout gets rewritten into a rear-mid, rear-drive package with sidepod cooling and real underbody management. A forward-extended nose with a deep central intake feeds brake and oil cooling, the hood blister vents pressure cleanly, and the rear clamshell finishes in a stepped diffuser with a tall, dual-element wing for period-correct stability. It’s a studio-shot “what if” that still respects the hard parts: packaging, heat rejection, and suspension geometry.
