Swamp Assault Bog Spec
2010 Kia Soul
R027
The Bayou Beast Amphibian reimagines the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro SS as a purpose-built amphibious assault vehicle for swamp and bayou terrain. This widebody transformation extends the track width to over 2400mm, stabilizing the coupe on water and marsh mud while incorporating a sculpted pontoon-style underbody for buoyancy. Marine-grade aluminum panels with a matte olive drab finish provide corrosion resistance and tactical utility, while integrated sponsons house sealed air reserves to aid flotation and stability in challenging aquatic environments. Under the hood, the LS3 V8 is recalibrated with a centrifugal supercharger to maximize low-end torque, paired with a wet-sump marine exhaust and intake system for reliable operation in flooded conditions. A secondary electric motor-generator adds silent propulsion and torque vectoring capabilities for precise maneuvering in swampy terrain. The wheel setup features 18x12-inch beadlock rims wrapped in 33-inch amphibious tires with deep lugs and sidewall flotation chambers, bridging the gap between aggressive off-road traction and buoyant amphibious performance.

The Bayou Beast features an aggressive wide track stance, measuring 2400mm at the front and 2450mm at the rear. This broad footprint enhances stability on uneven marsh terrain and water surfaces alike. Combined with hydro-pneumatic suspension capable of adjusting ride height between 180mm and 90mm, the vehicle adapts dynamically to both road and water conditions, maintaining composure across mixed environments.
2400mm front and 2450mm rear widebody track extensions
Marine-grade aluminum panels with matte olive drab finish
Integrated side sponsons housing sealed air reserves
Sculpted pontoon-style flat underbody for buoyancy
Low-profile adjustable hydrofoil fin in rear bumper
Recessed cooling vents to prevent water ingress
Snorkel intake rising 450mm above roof on passenger side
Aero elements focus on minimizing drag and enhancing lift in aquatic mode. The traditional rear spoiler is replaced by a low-profile adjustable hydrofoil fin integrated into the rear bumper, which aids in water lift and stability at speed. Cooling vents are recessed to prevent water ingress while allowing heat dissipation. The hood incorporates a snorkel intake rising above roof height to maintain clean airflow in flooded environments.
18x12 inch beadlock aluminum rims in matte olive drab
33-inch diameter Maxxis amphibious tires with deep lugs
Sidewall air chambers for flotation and water displacement
Method Race Wheels supplies bespoke 18x12-inch beadlock rims finished in matte olive drab, emphasizing durability and tactical styling. These are wrapped in 33-inch diameter Maxxis amphibious tires engineered with self-cleaning deep lugs and water displacement channels. Sidewall air chambers provide additional flotation, allowing the tires to function as pontoons when transitioning from land to water.
The stance balances aggressive widebody proportions with functional amphibious geometry. The flared arches and wide track improve lateral stability, while the hydro-pneumatic suspension offers long travel and rapid height adjustment. Ride height can be elevated for rough land travel or lowered for efficient waterborne navigation, giving the Bayou Beast versatility across diverse swamp and rural road conditions.
Supercharged LS3 V8 optimized for low-end torque
Fully sealed wet-sump marine exhaust and intake
Secondary electric motor-generator for silent aquatic mode
Torque vectoring capability for swamp maneuvering
The LS3 V8 is extensively modified with a centrifugal supercharger tuned to deliver strong low-RPM torque essential for traversing muddy and aquatic terrain. Marine-grade wet-sump exhaust and intake systems ensure reliable operation in flooded conditions, while the sealed design protects internal components from water ingress. A secondary electric motor-generator supplements propulsion in silent mode and provides torque vectoring for enhanced control in swamp environments.
Power is delivered through a hybrid drivetrain combining the supercharged V8 with an electric motor-generator mounted on the rear shaft. This setup allows seamless switching between combustion and electric propulsion, enabling quiet movement through sensitive aquatic zones. The drivetrain includes torque vectoring to assist with traction and maneuverability on unstable, waterlogged surfaces, while the sealed transmission and differential are adapted for amphibious operation.
Widebody arches flare with convex curvature featuring water-channeling steps
Reinforced composite hood reshaped with upward-swept bulwark
Clam-shell rear hatch with integrated water rudders and pontoon cradle
Hydro-pneumatic suspension with rapid adjustable ride height
