Story

Rally Rogue takes a ’75 Oldsmobile Delta 88—built to float down interstates—and drags it into an alternate WRC rulebook where size is a weapon. The long-roof sedan silhouette stays intact, but everything around it is purpose-built: squared 160mm-per-side flares, a widened track, and a ride height that clears ruts without giving up steering precision.

Under the dust it’s real engineering, not cosplay: long-travel suspension with reinforced pickup points, hard underbody protection, and cooling that matches sustained stage abuse. The big Olds presence becomes an advantage—stable at speed, predictable in long corners—while the details read like a service-park car that’s been rebuilt between rallies, not a showpiece.

Technical dossier

Fictional engineering concept

Platform

1975 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Sedan

Powertrain concept

Turbocharged 2.0L inline-4 rally unit targeting ~320 hp with broad midrange torque
Reinforced transmission with close ratios for stage work and stronger final drive
High-capacity intercooler and ducted radiator package for sustained heat load
Motorsport-style baffled sump and oil cooling to survive long, high-G sections

Aero package

Front arch-top louvers for brake cooling and turbulent air extraction
Flat undertray transitioning into a functional rear diffuser channel
Tall, dual-element adjustable rear wing mounted to reinforced chassis outriggers
High-clearance front splitter lip integrated into skid plate geometry

Chassis & stance

1975 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Sedan

Wheels & tires

BBS RM17-style center-lock wheels: 17x9 ET+25 front, 17x10 ET+20 rear
Toyo Open Country rally-spec rubber: 265/70R17 gravel-focused fitment
60mm front / 70mm rear effective offset push for stability and scrub-radius control
Oversized brake package with gravel shields and high-temp pads

Fabrication notes

Front and rear suspension pickup points gusseted; subframe ties added for impact resilience
Inner fenders reworked to match flare volume while maintaining wheelhouse sealing
Wing loads routed into chassis outriggers, not sheetmetal, to prevent fatigue cracking
Skid plates mounted on serviceable brackets for fast replacement between stages
