Story

The 2005 Pontiac G6 wasn’t born for dunes, which is exactly why the Dune Ravager works. It takes a forgotten mid-2000s sedan silhouette and stretches it into a purpose-built desert weapon: huge track width, real long-travel geometry, and a body that’s shaped around airflow and grit management rather than street-car symmetry.

This is Dakar logic applied to American front-drive roots—reinforced sills, sealed panels, high-mounted cooling, and a raised, stable stance meant to stay planted at speed when the surface turns to marbles. Matte Sahara beige and hard-edged black graphics keep it understated, while the venting and hardware give away what it’s actually built to survive.

Technical dossier

Fictional engineering concept

Platform

2005 Pontiac G6

Powertrain concept

3.6L V6 built for endurance with twin-turbo boost kept conservative for heat control
High-capacity filtration and sealed intake routing designed for silt-heavy stages
Liquid-to-air intercooling with supplemental oil cooling mounted for clean airflow
High-mounted exhaust routing with underbody thermal shielding for crossings and survivability

Aero package

Carbon hood with deep NACA ducts feeding intake/intercooling and rearward-angled heat extraction louvers
Front lower bumper mesh intakes sized for cooling and brake airflow management
Rear dust-shield diffuser with louvres to reduce wake turbulence and dust plume
Fixed twin-element rear wing with vented endplates for stability at speed

Chassis & stance

Wheels & tires

37-inch-class BFGoodrich Baja T/A KR2 tires for puncture resistance and sidewall support
Forged beadlock wheels to allow low-pressure running without de-beading
Wide wheel widths front/rear to match the extended arms and keep scrub radius in check

Fabrication notes

Extended double-wishbone arms with reinforced pickup points and corrected steering geometry
Long-travel triple-rate coilovers tuned for bottom-out control on landings
Cooling package relocated and ducted to reduce heat soak and sand blockage
Service-first rear packaging for spare access, electrical isolation, and quick repairs
