The Veilstorm Mirage reimagines the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro SS as a definitive tribute to early 2000s Japanese tuner culture, blending American muscle with iconic Veilside widebody styling. Its aggressively flared bell-shaped arches and riveted bolt-on panels expand the Camaro's stance well beyond stock dimensions, emphasizing sculptural curves and layered aero surfaces that capture the era's penchant for bold, flowing forms over raw aggression. Glossy candy red paintwork paired with carbon fiber overlays and exposed rivet detailing create a vivid canvas that echoes the spirit of Hot Import Nights show cars, transforming this muscle coupe into a flamboyant street showpiece that commands attention at dusk-lit urban meets. Beneath its show-focused exterior, the build balances visual drama with reliability by mildly upgrading the LS3 V8 to produce a charismatic 450 horsepower grunt tuned for presence rather than outright track dominance. Multi-piece Work Equip 03 wheels wrapped in period-appropriate Toyo Proxes tires maintain an authentic grip and stance, while custom coilovers drop the ride height to an aggressive yet manageable level. The Veilstorm Mirage’s expansive Veilside-inspired rear wing and integrated diffuser elements add a measured dose of functional downforce, completing a build that honors the early 2000s tuner boom with meticulous detail and cultural reverence.
Blueprint // R047
Though primarily a show build, the Veilstorm Mirage’s suspension and tire selection provide competent street performance with reduced body roll and confident grip. The aero package, including the large rear wing and diffuser, introduces measured downforce at moderate speeds, contributing to stability during spirited urban driving while preserving the car’s visual drama.
Extreme bolt-on riveted widebody kit with bell-shaped front and rear arches
Integrated side skirts with upward kinks behind front wheels
Veilside-style layered fender skirts with vent cutouts
Carbon fiber reinforced rear hatch panels replacing glass sections
Massive Veilside-inspired rear wing with carbon fiber pylons and titanium hardware
Sweeping rear diffuser with layered fins and integrated vents
Double-bubble hood with offset nacelle vents and polished chrome mesh inserts
Forward-facing cheek vents on hood sides in matte black carbon fiber
Aerodynamics blend form and function with a Veilside-inspired ethos, featuring a double-bubble hood with offset nacelle vents and matte black cheek vents that direct airflow while adding sculptural detail. The massive rear wing spans 1800mm with an arched profile, mounted on carbon fiber pylons with titanium fasteners, delivering an estimated 500N of downforce at 100 km/h. Complemented by a layered diffuser with integrated venting, the aero package balances visual impact with subtle street-relevant performance enhancements.
Multi-piece Work Equip 03 wheels, 18x11” front and 18x12” rear in polished gunmetal
Rolled lips with bespoke ruby red bolt ring accents
Toyo Proxes T1R tires, 265/35R18 front and 305/30R18 rear
Period-correct tire profile for grip and visual nostalgia
Fitted with multi-piece Work Equip 03 wheels, the setup features 18x11 inches at the front and 18x12 inches at the rear, finished in polished gunmetal with rolled lips. Ruby red accents on the bolt rings inject subtle color contrast, tying back to the candy red bodywork. Wrapped in Toyo Proxes T1R tires sized 265/35R18 front and 305/30R18 rear, the wheels balance period-correct aesthetics with capable grip for street use.
The car’s stance is aggressively low and wide, with ride heights set at 45mm front and 50mm rear on custom coilovers. The widebody arches push the track width to 2220mm front and 2270mm rear, producing a commanding footprint that exaggerates classic Veilside proportions. The resulting posture is unmistakably show-ready, blending a smooth urban ride with the iconic slammed look of early 2000s tuner cars.
Mildly upgraded LS3 V8 with cold air induction
Titanium exhaust headers tuned for charismatic growl
450 horsepower output focused on reliability and show presence
Exhaust system optimized for sound over peak power
The build retains the Camaro’s LS3 V8, upgraded with a cold air intake and titanium exhaust headers to deliver a sonorous 450 horsepower. Rather than chasing peak output, the tuning emphasizes reliability and a distinctive exhaust note that complements the show car’s presence. This approach respects the muscle car’s heritage while aligning with the tuner culture’s focus on character and sound.
Paired with the LS3 engine is the stock rear-wheel-drive layout, enhanced by a custom coilover suspension setup that lowers the ride height aggressively while maintaining smooth damping for street driving. The drivetrain’s balance ensures the car remains usable and engaging, supporting the widebody stance without sacrificing daily drivability or show readiness.
Widebody panels hand-finished with exposed polished rivet caps
Carbon fiber overlays textured with subtle weave patterns
Custom coilover suspension with linear damping for smooth urban handling
Titanium hardware and polished metal details throughout aero components
