Trackday Slammer

Series NPC Cars
Category Circuit
Platform 2015 Ford Fusion
Era 2010s OEM+ / Instagram Era

The 2015 Ford Fusion Trackday Slammer is a purpose-built widebody track car engineered for low drag and maximum front-end grip. Featuring angular carbon fiber fenders extended 115mm per side with integrated vertical airflow channels, this build transforms the Fusion into a razor-sharp track weapon. The hood is heavily vented with a central ram scoop rising 100mm to feed the high-performance hybrid powertrain. At the rear, a full-width carbon fiber diffuser extends 200mm below the bumper, complemented by a complex triple-element hanging wing that is fully adjustable for attack angles. The stance is aggressively lowered by 70mm with a widened track and aggressive camber for razor-sharp handling. OZ Racing Ultraleggera wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires complete the package, delivering pro-level precision and grip.

Technical Dossier // R034

Track

Designed explicitly for track day use, the Fusion Trackday Slammer features aerodynamic enhancements focused on minimizing drag and maximizing front-end grip. The lowered stance, widened track, and aggressive camber settings ensure razor-sharp handling and responsiveness on high-speed circuits.

Body Modifications

Angular carbon fiber fenders extended 115mm each side with integrated vertical airflow channels
Heavily vented hood with central ram scoop rising 100mm
Carbon fiber rear hatch replacement with full-width diffuser extending 200mm rearward below bumper

Aero Components

Integrated vertical airflow channels in front fenders to reduce front lift
Central ram scoop on hood for enhanced cooling and intake
Full-width carbon fiber diffuser extending 200mm below rear bumper
Triple-element hanging rear wing, 1200mm wide by 350mm tall, adjustable attack angles

Aero

Aerodynamics are a key focus with angular widebody fenders featuring vertical airflow channels to reduce front lift, a heavily vented hood with a central ram scoop to improve cooling and intake, a carbon fiber rear diffuser extending 200mm below the bumper for rear downforce, and a complex triple-element rear wing that is fully adjustable to fine-tune aerodynamic balance.

Wheel and Tire Setup

19x10” OZ Racing Ultraleggera wheels
Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires

Wheels

Equipped with lightweight 19x10” OZ Racing Ultraleggera wheels, the Fusion runs on Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, delivering exceptional grip, durability, and feedback essential for competitive track driving.

Stance

The car is aggressively lowered by 70mm with a widened track by 60mm front and rear, combined with -3.5 degrees camber on both axles. This stance optimizes cornering grip, stability, and aerodynamic balance, giving the Fusion a purposeful and aggressive posture.

Powertrain Concept

Hybrid electrified powertrain
3.0L twin-turbo inline-4 engine producing 500HP
Rear electric assist for additional power and torque delivery

Engine

The powertrain centers on a 3.0L twin-turbo inline-4 engine delivering 500 horsepower, paired with a rear electric assist system that boosts torque and responsiveness. This hybrid setup balances raw combustion power with instant electric torque, optimized for track performance and endurance.

Drivetrain

The drivetrain integrates a traditional rear-wheel-drive layout augmented by an electric motor at the rear axle, providing hybrid torque vectoring capabilities and enhanced traction during aggressive cornering and acceleration phases.

Fabrication Notes

Carbon fiber widebody fenders fabricated with integrated vertical airflow channels for aerodynamic efficiency
Hood extensively vented and modified with central ram scoop rising 100mm
Rear hatch replaced by lightweight carbon fiber panel incorporating full-width diffuser
Triple-element rear wing constructed from carbon fiber with adjustable mounts for attack angle tuning
