Snow Devil
Snow Devil takes the 2019 Toyota C-HR and treats it like a winter stage tool, not a styling exercise. The track is pushed out a full 310mm per side front and rear, landing at 1885mm front and 1890mm rear—wide enough to plant studded rubber without tipping the balance into cartoon. The arches are tall and aggressively radiused for full compression on rutted ice, with hard points built into the flare structure for quick-fit chain hardware when the surface goes from polished to chewed-up.
Cooling and survivability get the same no-nonsense treatment: vented side pods feed a front-mounted radiator and intercooler that are sized for low-speed snow work as much as high-speed rallycross laps. A brushed aluminum hood with ice-shedding ridges and functional ducting keeps airflow predictable in wet snow, while the raised 230mm ride height and sealed underbody details focus on clearing drifts without packing slush into the car’s critical systems.

Technical Dossier
Platform
2019 Toyota C-HR
The 2019 Toyota C-HR stands as a bold entry in the compact crossover segment, blending sharp, edgy design with a chassis engineered for urban agility. Built on Toyota’s TNGA-C platform, this model balances a compact footprint with a poised driving experience, featuring a front-wheel-drive layout and a focus on responsive handling. Its distinctive coupe-like roofline and aggressive stance make it a standout in crowded city streets, while the platform’s architecture provides a solid foundation for customization and tuning, appealing to enthusiasts seeking style and substance in a versatile package.
Aero Package
Functional hood scoop/duct package feeding intake and heat exchangers
Vented side pods for radiator/intercooler airflow management at low speeds
Front splitter/bumper lip designed for snow deflection and stable front pressure
Rear wing with squared, blade-like end treatment for wake control in snowfall
Flat undertray sections with targeted venting to reduce slush packing
Chassis
The widened tracks (1885mm front, 1890mm rear) give the C-HR a planted footprint that resists the snap movements ice rallycross loves to punish. Corrected steering and suspension geometry keep the big stance functional, letting the studs work under braking without turning the car into a plow at full lock.
Wheels & Tires
18x9.5 OZ Racing Ultraleggera forged wheels
Nokian Hakkapeliitta studded winter tires sized for tall sidewall compliance
Stud pattern optimized for ice rallycross (traction under braking and rotation on throttle)
High-clearance brake package with snow shields and corrosion-focused hardware
Powertrain
Supercharged 2.0L inline-four tuned to 280hp for cold-density consistency and broad torque
Charge-air cooling sized for repeated low-speed pulls and short-course heat soak cycles
Cold-start and crankcase ventilation strategy designed for sub-zero operation
Exhaust routing and heat management aimed at preventing snow melt-refreeze around the rear
Fabrication Notes
Widebody mounted to reinforced inner structure with serviceable fasteners for quick panel swaps
Chain hard points tied into the flare subframe, not just the outer skin
Side pod ducting built with drain paths and mesh selection to resist ice blockage
Hood formed in brushed aluminum with bead-rolled ridges for stiffness and snow shedding
Rear tailgate panel built as a sealed composite/aluminum hybrid with integrated lamp pockets

Wave 36
Winter Warriors: Vol. 1
We took a bunch of rides most people wouldn’t dare to drag out onto frozen hellscapes and turned them into absolute beasts of Arctic rally warfare. Our builds don’t just survive the cold — they thrive in it, with widebody arches stretched wide enough to swallow studded tires that could chew through ice like butter.
