R010
The 2017 Nissan Rogue Scrapyard Blaster transforms a typically urban SUV into a formidable mud bog warrior. Its aggressive 200mm-per-side plated steel overfenders with downward flares prevent mud buildup while carving a wide, planted stance. The lifted front end sports a massive winch-integrated bumper with deep vents that ensure reliable cooling during grueling swamp runs, complemented by a raised hood with mesh intake optimizing airflow to the modified 2.5L naturally aspirated engine equipped with a snorkel for deep water crossings. Suspension is heavily re-engineered with beefy coil springs and upgraded shocks pushing ride height to 400mm, allowing giant 40-inch Maxxis Trepador tires on 20x14 Method Race wheels to churn through deep mud without compromise. The rear hatch is replaced by a reinforced steel tailgate with LED floodlights, providing durability and visibility for night races. This build channels raw industrial aggression and functional wide-track principles, turning a common background SUV into an iconic off-road beast.
Blueprint // R010
Built for swamp racing and deep mud bogs, the Scrapyard Blaster thrives on terrain that chews up conventional vehicles. Its massive tires claw through mud pits while the elevated suspension keeps vital components clear of debris. Nighttime races benefit from the tailgate-mounted floodlights, making it a relentless competitor in low-visibility, harsh environments.
200mm per side plated steel overfenders with downward flares
Reinforced steel rear tailgate with integrated LED floodlights
Raised hood by 70mm with mesh air intake
Winch-integrated steel front bumper with deep radiator vents
Mesh hood intake for enhanced engine cooling
Deep vents integrated into front bumper for airflow management
While traditional aerodynamic aids are sacrificed for ground clearance and practicality, the build employs functional airflow management through deep mesh hood intakes and front bumper vents. These features improve cooling efficiency, critical during slow, torque-heavy bog racing where heat buildup can be detrimental.
20x14 inch Method Race Wheels
40/15.50R20 Maxxis Trepador mud bog tires
The build rides on 20x14 inch Method Race wheels, chosen for their proven strength and beadlock capability. Wrapped in 40-inch Maxxis Trepador mud boggers, these tires feature aggressive tread patterns designed for maximum grip and self-cleaning in swamp conditions, allowing the vehicle to maintain momentum through thick mud.
An extreme 400mm ride height lift creates a commanding presence and functional clearance over obstacles. The wide 200mm per side overfenders broaden the track, improving stability and reducing the risk of chassis contact with mud, while the suspension upgrades provide the necessary damping for aggressive off-road maneuvering.
Modified 2.5L naturally aspirated engine
Snorkel air intake for water fording
Upgraded aftermarket cooling system
The heart of the Scrapyard Blaster is a modified 2.5L naturally aspirated engine, optimized for reliability and torque in low-speed, high-resistance mud conditions. A snorkel intake ensures clean air supply when traversing deep water, while an upgraded cooling system maintains optimal engine temperatures despite intense off-road stress.
The drivetrain retains the Rogue’s all-wheel-drive layout, enhanced with reinforced components to handle the increased torque demands and the extreme articulation from the lifted suspension. This setup provides confident power delivery and traction in swampy, uneven terrain.
Plated steel overfenders welded for maximum durability
Custom suspension lift with beefed-up coil springs and shocks
Reinforced steel tailgate designed for off-road impact resistance
