The Peregrine Endurance Program turns the long, low 1949 Mercury Eight into a hard-working road-race special: broad fenders, a raised hood spine and carefully placed cooling outlets all follow the original body’s heavy, flowing lines. Satin British racing green, cream stripes and roundels give it the look of a team car built for a rough, fast crossing rather than a concours lawn.
Under the skin, the emphasis is repeatable pace. A dry-sumped flathead V8, revised cooling and compliant adjustable suspension aim to keep the Mercury composed through long stages and changing pavement.
