Story

Iron Nail Program takes the overlooked 2006 Scion xB silhouette and drags it straight onto Scandinavian ice—no cosplay, just function. The box stays boxy, but everything underneath and around it is rethought for subzero grip: huge studded contact patches, a widened track that looks almost wrong until you see the slip angles it’s built to hold, and aero that’s less about top speed and more about managing slush, spray, and stability.

The headline is traction you can hear. A 200mm wider front track and 220mm wider rear let the xB carry 345-section studded rubber without sketchy geometry, while the faceted flares and ice dams act like bodywork and snow management tools at the same time. It’s a pro-spec winter circuit weapon that still reads as an xB from a hundred meters away—just with a lot more intent.

1.5L inline-4 retained for balance and reliability, optimized for cold-start and sustained high-load cooling
Segmented radiator and ducting strategy to prevent ice packing while maintaining stable coolant temps
Freeze-protected coolant spec (ethylene glycol mix) and insulated plumbing for subzero operation
Exhaust routing revised for ground clearance and to keep heat away from snow accumulation zones

Aero package

150mm forward-extending trapezoidal front splitter with integrated rectangular ice dams
Venturi-shaped side inlets with angled louvers feeding brake ducts while deflecting snow outward
Rear diffuser extending 215mm below the floor with six vertical fins across 1300mm width
Multi-element carbon rear wing (1700mm span) on 800mm swan-neck pylons with slotted endplates

Widebody panels shaped with vertical lips and facets to physically deflect ice spray and protect door seams
Ducting designed with straight, clean runs to brakes and cooling cores to reduce snow ingestion and blockage
Splitter, diffuser, and wing mounts reinforced for impact loads from ruts and ice berm taps
