Desert Talon Program
Desert Talon Program takes a 2017 RAV4—one of the most anonymous shapes on the freeway—and rebuilds it like it has to survive a thousand miles of heat, rocks, and sustained wide-open throttle. The visual is all function: a 270–290mm wider track wrapped in trapezoidal box flares, beadlocks and 33s stuffed under deep travel, and a front end that’s more skid plate than bumper.
Underneath the livery is the part enthusiasts care about: packaging and reliability. The 2.5 gets pushed back into a front-mid position for stability and reduced nose weight, cooling is split and ducted to keep temps steady in slow silt and fast desert, and the chassis is treated like a race car—sealed, braced, and built to take hits without turning the body into the structure.

The 2017 Toyota RAV4 marked a significant evolution in Toyota’s compact crossover lineup, combining rugged SUV capability with everyday practicality and reliability. Built on Toyota’s TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) GA-K platform, this RAV4 delivers a balanced chassis with sharp handling dynamics and improved structural rigidity. Its boxy yet aerodynamic design balances interior space optimization with modern styling cues, making it both a versatile family hauler and a capable partner for light off-road adventures.

280mm forward multi-plane front skid/splitter with 20° dive planes for stability and protection
Forward-facing fender aero channels feeding wheel-well evacuation and brake cooling
Raised hood spine with dual recessed intake ducts feeding engine/trans cooling air
300mm rear diffuser with four vertical strakes to reduce wake turbulence at speed
Chassis
Set up for desert straightaways and broken high-speed terrain: 350mm of travel front and rear on remote-reservoir coilovers, long-travel geometry, and a maximum compressed clearance around 250–260mm. The widened track is as much about stability at speed as it is about keeping the tires out of the body when the suspension is fully crossed up.
