The greenhouse stays tall, the beltline stays honest, but everything below it is re-architected: squared box flares, hard edges, and exposed aero that turns family-car proportions into a legitimate circuit weapon.
The attitude is pure late-’70s/early-’80s: exaggerated width, brutal cooling, and a livery that looks like it rolled out of a paddock full of cigarette-stained clipboards and tire carts. Buick’s 2005 Rendezvous is pure early-2000s American crossover energy: a front-drive-biased, V6-powered family hauler built when the segment was still figuring itself out. It blends minivan practicality with SUV proportions—long roof, tall glasshouse, and a cabin-first package that’s more about road-trip comfort and cargo space than chasing lap times.
In the context of modern car culture, the Rendezvous sits in that quietly fascinating zone of overlooked platforms—honest, utilitarian, and instantly period-correct.
