Story

Black Market Menace takes the 2005 Buick LaCrosse—peak mid-2000s commuter anonymity—and drags it into the neon alley on purpose. The stock silhouette stays readable, but everything around it is re-authored: stepped trapezoid overfenders, a patchwork hood that looks sourced from three different forums, and riveted composite work that’s loud without being random. It’s the kind of car that makes you stare because you can tell someone measured, cut, and committed.

Under the chaos is a functional street-grip layout: big track width, real ducting, and aero that’s more than decoration. Triple NACA feeds to brake cooling, an asymmetrical front face prioritizes charge-air and splitter balance, and the rear quarters vent heat and pressure where it matters. It’s a Buick that’s been treated like a platform—built in the margins, engineered with intent, and finished like it’s seen a few midnight meetups and came back sharper.

Technical dossier

Fictional engineering concept

Platform

2005 Buick LaCrosse

Powertrain concept

Factory Buick 3.8L V6 retained with a twin-scroll turbo system sized for fast street spool
Front-mount intercooler fed by passenger-side vertical duct; hot-side routing kept short and serviceable
Heat management via hood extractors and sealed ducting paths from fender NACA to brake/cooling circuits
Brake upgrade concept: high-temp rotors with dedicated ducting (carbon-ceramic style intent, street-capable execution)

Aero package

Asymmetrical composite front bumper: driver-side canard channel + passenger-side vertical charge-air intake
Bipartite front splitter projecting 155mm with paired 12° fins for balance/vortex control
Triple NACA duct arrays integrated into front fender leading edges for brake cooling feed
Rear bumper diffuser section extending 245mm lower with three deep horizontal extraction slots
Roof lip spoiler extending 115mm with an 18° rake to stabilize the rear at speed

Chassis & stance

2005 Buick LaCrosse

Wheels & tires

Work Emotion CR Ultimate forged: 19x9.5 front, 19x11 rear, bronze finish
Yokohama Advan Neova AD08R: 275/35ZR19 front, 305/30ZR19 rear
Track widened ~210mm overall via wheel spec + hub/arm strategy to match widebody
Ride height lowered ~55mm on coilovers with camber plates for front-end response

Fabrication notes

Widebody built as riveted composite over OEM reference lines to preserve the LaCrosse silhouette
Internal ducting from NACA inlets to brake backing plates with bumper-corner exits for pressure relief
Patchwork hood panel transitions use stepped flanges and visible fasteners to prevent oil-canning and cracking
Rear quarter vent channels are boxed and screened to withstand road debris and tire spray
Splitter/diffuser mounted to reinforced pickup points, not just bumper skin, for real load paths
