Story

Vortex Edge Protocol takes the early-2000s IS300—everyone’s “nice daily” from the tuner boom—and forces it through a silhouette-car filter without erasing what makes it an IS. The roofline, glass, and door cuts stay familiar, but everything below the beltline is re-authored into hard wedge geometry: faceted box flares, deep negative channels, and intakes sized like they’re feeding endurance-car heat exchangers.

It’s a show-car that reads like it was engineered by someone who’s spent time under a car with a tape measure. Track width is pushed to the edge, aero is layered and directional, and the 2JZ stays up front—because the whole point is the contradiction: Lexus sedan packaging, supercar proportions, and a cooling system that looks like it belongs on something with pit boards.

Technical dossier

Fictional engineering concept

Platform

2002 Lexus IS300

Powertrain concept

Front-mounted 2JZ with twin turbo strategy focused on response and top-end airflow
Side-mounted intercooler cores fed by the vertical fender ducts with sealed ducting
7-speed sequential with paddle control and motorsport-style calibration priorities
Upgraded cooling stack and hood extraction to manage sustained boost heat

Aero package

180mm forward splitter with multi-element front bumper architecture
Angular dive planes with serrated trailing-edge fins for front-end balance
320mm deep rear diffuser with seven vertical vortex strakes and extended outboard exits
Dual-element swan-neck wing mounted high for clean air and adjustable balance

Chassis & stance

2002 Lexus IS300

Wheels & tires

19x10 front and 19x11.5 rear forged wheels in a modern motorsport five-spoke profile
Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2: 305/30ZR19 front, 335/25ZR19 rear
Widened track: +185mm front, +190mm rear to match the flare architecture
Lowered ~40mm with geometry corrected for wide-tire clearance and steering angle

Fabrication notes

Composite widebody panels indexed to OEM hard points to preserve door gaps and glass alignment
Inner fender rework and duct sealing to make the side intakes functional, not cosmetic
Suspension conversion to adjustable double wishbones with forged uprights to control scrub radius on the widened track
Diffuser and wing mounts tied into reinforced rear structure to handle real load paths
