Story

Desert Falcon Program takes the untouchable ’69 Shelby GT350 silhouette and re-argues it as a rally-raid homologation special—high-clearance, wide-track, and built to live at speed in heat, dust, and rock. The squared trapezoid flares aren’t cosplay; they’re packaging for long-travel geometry, big brake airflow, and the kind of tire you choose when the stage is measured in hours, not laps.

Cooling and durability lead the design: forward hood feed, fender sidepods, and extractor vents manage underhood temps while keeping dust out of the important places. The stance is unapologetically functional—18x11s with 345/65R18 all-terrains, widened tracks, and a rear aero package tuned for stability on fast desert flats without turning the car into a parachute.

Technical dossier

Fictional engineering concept

Platform

1969 Shelby GT350

Powertrain concept

Front-engine V8 retained with endurance-focused cooling and oil control (dry-sump architecture assumed)
High-mounted, protected exhaust routing exiting rearward to minimize impact damage and debris ingestion
Ducted oil and transmission cooling fed by fender sidepod inlets for sustained high-load desert running
Calibration and filtration biased toward heat soak resistance and dust tolerance over peak dyno numbers

Aero package

Modular front bumper/crash structure with twin rectangular ducted radiator inlets and mesh anti-ingress screens
Hood with 400x190mm forward scoop feeding oil cooling and auxiliary heat exchangers; twin pairs of extractor vents near cowl
Rear diffuser extending 270mm with vertical strakes to stabilize the wake and reduce dust turbulence
1650mm adjustable dual-element rally wing on swan-neck pylons mounted ~800mm above deck for low-speed downforce

Chassis & stance

1969 Shelby GT350

Wheels & tires

18x11 Method Race wheels (rally-focused forged construction) front and rear
345/65R18 BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A for sidewall compliance and high-speed desert durability
Wide track stance to reduce roll sensitivity and lower suspension load per corner in rough terrain
Brake ducting and fender venting designed around the tire’s larger rotating envelope

Fabrication notes

Reinforced suspension pickup points and knuckle/upright structure to support long-travel loads and increased scrub radius
Composite flare construction with service-friendly fasteners for quick replacement after stage contact
Sealed ducting strategy: controlled inlet area, screened openings, and defined exit paths to prevent pressure stacking
Underbody protection and jacking points integrated into sill/rocker architecture for rapid service in the field
