Celestial Silk Edition

1940 Ford Super Deluxe Coupe

Celestial Silk Edition takes a sacred-shape ’40 Super Deluxe and stretches it into a deliberate contradiction: bosozoku silhouette cues filtered through German coachbuilt restraint. The wide quarters begin early and swell hard, but the flare is controlled—concave lower vanes and long, chamfered skirts give the car an engineered undersweep instead of cartoon bulk. The double-bubble roof rises just enough to read as a crafted extension, not a chop, with elongated flush glass that keeps the factory crown intact.

The finish does the talking when the lights hit: sapphire-to-violet chameleon with silver pearl, matte-black roof and clamshell accents, and fine gold linework that traces every new edge like a pattern drafted on a buck. Under the carbon hood, the flathead stays stock and visible—polished, honest, and intentionally exposed—because this build is about form, proportion, and surface discipline rather than horsepower theater.

Aero Package

Concave triangular lower-quarter vane integrated into rear flare for visual undersweep
Sculpted side skirts extending ~90mm below door line with chamfered leading edges
Bowed rear diffuser section projecting ~160mm with triangular vented cutouts
Flush-integrated trailing edge lip spoiler (~40mm high across ~1100mm width)

Chassis

Built for exhibition, not lap times: the widened track and extreme arch volume are about proportion, wheel fitment, and silhouette stability in a static setting. It’s a studio-and-showpiece that reads technical from every angle, especially under hard, directional lighting.

Wheels & Tires

Work forged multi-spoke: 20x11 front
20x12 rear
Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2: 305/30R20 front
335/30R20 rear
Aggressive show alignment tuned for clearance with widened arches and skirt drop

Powertrain

Stock flathead V8 retained—no internal modifications
emphasis on presentation
Polished finishes and billet aluminum intake manifold showcased under an open
detailed bay
Cooling-channel hood treatment prioritizes airflow management and visual symmetry

Fabrication Notes

Widebody executed as smooth factory+ metalwork with controlled radii to avoid “tacked-on” read
Carbon hood molded with a 90mm center recession; aluminum channels machined and polished
then bonded/fastened with serviceability in mind
Rear clamshell formed in aluminum for coachbuilt authenticity; LED strip integrated with hidden mounts and clean wiring paths
Air suspension packaged for ultra-low show height while preserving lift travel for loading and maneuvering

Wave 32

Japanese Coachbuilds

This wave takes Japanese street culture and treats it like a coachbuilder’s language: stretched arches, factory-plus surfacing, real wheel spec, and aero that looks like it could work even when it’s mostly theater. From compact coupes to trucks to pre-war metal, everything gets the same obsessive, respectful aggression—wide tracks, carbon accents, and paint that belongs behind velvet ropes.
