Nürburg Titan

The Nürburg Titan transforms the 2009 Lexus RX350 from a suburban luxury SUV into a relentless Nürburgring VLN endurance contender. Its aggressively widened track, expanded to 2150mm, delivers razor-sharp cornering and stability, while a multi-material carbon and titanium chassis reinforcement ensures rigidity under the most brutal race conditions. The front end is outfitted with a full-width carbon splitter, dive planes, and vented arches to optimize brake cooling, complemented by a large carbon vented hood that efficiently extracts heat from the potent twin-turbo V8 beneath. At the rear, the stock hatch is replaced with a gullwing-style carbon twin door featuring integrated winglets directing airflow to a race-grade diffuser. An adjustable titanium-supported GT wing generates over 1000 Newtons of downforce at 300 km/h, anchoring the car firmly through high-speed corners. Set on race springs and load-sensitive dampers fixed at 60mm ride height, the Nürburg Titan rides on 19x11 inch OZ Racing Ultraleggera wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport endurance rubber, with 6-piston calipers biting down on 310mm front discs to provide tenacious braking for marathon stints at the Green Hell.

Technical Dossier // R051

Track

Built explicitly for the grueling demands of the Nürburgring VLN Endurance Series, the Nürburg Titan excels in high-speed stability, braking endurance, and cornering precision. Its aerodynamic enhancements and wide track width allow it to carve through the Nordschleife’s technical sections with confidence and resilience during long-distance racing.

Body Modifications

Widebody arches expanded to 2150mm track width
Multi-material carbon and titanium chassis reinforcements
Carbon fiber twin gullwing rear hatch with winglets
Race springs with load-sensitive dampers fixed at 60mm ride height

Aero Components

Full-width carbon splitter with integrated dive planes
Vented front fender louvers for brake cooling
Large carbon fiber vented hood with mesh
Adjustable titanium-supported fixed carbon GT wing
Rear diffuser optimized for airflow from winglets

Aero

Aerodynamics are a cornerstone of this build, with a full-width carbon splitter and dive planes managing front-end downforce and airflow. Front fender louvers cool the brakes efficiently, while the vented carbon hood extracts engine heat. At the rear, a gullwing hatch with integrated winglets channels air cleanly to a diffuser, and an adjustable titanium-supported GT wing generates over 1000 Newtons of downforce at speed, ensuring stability through high-speed corners.

Wheel and Tire Setup

19x11 inch OZ Racing Ultraleggera wheels
Michelin Pilot Sport endurance racing tires
310mm front brake discs with 6-piston calipers

Wheels

The car rides on lightweight 19x11 inch OZ Racing Ultraleggera wheels, chosen for their strength-to-weight ratio critical in endurance racing. Wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport endurance tires, the setup ensures maximum grip and durability. The braking system features 310mm discs with 6-piston calipers for consistent stopping power over extended track sessions.

Stance

The Nürburg Titan sits at a fixed 60mm ride height on race springs paired with load-sensitive dampers, delivering a planted and aggressive stance. The wide track and stiff suspension provide exceptional handling balance, allowing the SUV to tackle the circuit’s rapid direction changes and elevation shifts with poise.

Powertrain Concept

4.8L twin-turbo V8 with endurance-grade cooling
Race-spec fuel delivery system
Optimized for sustained high power output

Engine

The heart of the Nürburg Titan is a robust 4.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engineered for endurance racing. It features an upgraded cooling system and precision fuel delivery to sustain peak power and reliability during long stints at the Nordschleife. The carbon fiber vented hood efficiently evacuates heat, maintaining optimal operating temperatures under extreme track conditions.

Drivetrain

A tuned all-wheel-drive system balances traction and control, channeling the V8’s power through a race-calibrated transmission and limited-slip differentials. This setup ensures superior grip and power delivery on varied track surfaces, critical for the demanding Nürburgring endurance events.

Fabrication Notes

Extensive use of carbon fiber and titanium to reduce weight and increase strength
Custom gullwing rear hatch fabricated from full carbon
Adjustable aero mounts machined from titanium
Widebody panels sculpted for functional airflow and cooling
